The ACCUPRO 12184243 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and alloy workpieces. The cutting end features a 0.125 inch diameter with a 1 inch length of cut, ground from solid micrograin carbide for edge retention and rigidity. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and wear life in high-speed dry or semi-dry cutting. The 40-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The extra-long 3 inch overall length allows access to deep pockets, slots, and contoured surfaces where standard-length tools cannot reach. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments.
This ball end mill is suited for contour milling, 3D profiling, slotting, and pocket milling in ferrous metals, stainless steel, titanium, and hard alloys. The extra-long reach and small diameter make it appropriate for die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and precision part production. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. This tool is installed by machinists using a compatible collet chuck or end mill holder rated for the 1/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe locked-out state before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the shank to minimize vibration and premature tool wear. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when programming feeds and speeds for carbide tooling.
