The ACCUPRO 12184229 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, slots, and complex 3D profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle ground from micrograin carbide stock. The single-end, two-flute configuration provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. With a bright uncoated finish, this tool is suitable for a range of general-purpose milling applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where tight tolerances and consistent geometry are required.
This ball end mill is sized for long-reach applications, with a 4 inch overall length and a 1/2 inch shank diameter that seats securely in standard ER or side-lock tool holders. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are the standard configuration for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers. It is well suited for die work, mold making, and profile milling passes where a long length of cut is needed to access deep pockets or stepped features.
Designed as a standard single-end ball nose end mill with a 1/2 inch shank diameter, compatible with ER collet chucks, Weldon side-lock holders, and other tool holding systems accepting 1/2 inch round shanks on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the tool holder manufacturer's torque and runout specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an appropriate safe state before changing tooling. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
