The ACCUPRO 12184127 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and hard materials. With a 0.25-inch mill diameter and a 0.375-inch length of cut, this tool is built for contouring, profiling, and 3D surface work where a ball-nose geometry is required. The 2-inch overall length and 0.25-inch shank diameter fit standard ER and straight-shank toolholders. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide substrate provides edge retention and rigidity suited to demanding CNC milling applications.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required. The stub length classification makes it well suited for short-reach applications where rigidity is critical, such as pocket milling, die and mold work, and contouring operations. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling on most machining setups. The uncoated finish is appropriate for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and certain ferrous materials where coating is not required or where re-sharpening is anticipated.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 0.25-inch straight-shank toolholders and ER collet chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excess runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide end mills.
