The ACCUPRO 12183985 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and aerospace alloys. The 0.315 inch (8 mm) cutting diameter and 40-degree helix angle promote smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces during slotting, profiling, and 3D contouring operations. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, extending tool life in high-speed and dry machining environments. The micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and wear resistance. This tool is suited for machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops, production environments, or mold and die applications.
This ball end mill is configured as a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool. The 0.7874 inch (20 mm) length of cut accommodates moderate-depth profiling and cavity work. The 8 mm shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and shrink-fit holders common in CNC machining centers. The 63 mm overall length keeps the tool compact for rigidity in typical milling setups. It ships individually and is intended for single-unit or low-volume tooling restocks.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard ER collet chucks or shrink-fit holders accepting an 8 mm shank diameter. Suitable for milling ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials where AlTiN coating performance applies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the recommended gauge length before tightening to avoid runout. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against the material and coating recommendations before starting the cut. Inspect the cutting edge for chips or wear before each use and do not exceed the stated length of cut during full-engagement passes.
