The ACCUPRO 12183921 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. The tool measures 0.118 inches (3 mm) in cutting diameter with a 0.4724 inch (12 mm) length of cut and an overall length of 1.496 inches (38 mm). A TiCN coating provides increased surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. The 2-flute, right-hand cutting geometry suits slotting, profiling, and 3D contouring work where a ball nose profile is required. Micrograin carbide construction supports higher cutting speeds and finer finishes in hardened steels, stainless, and non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter ball nose tooling is required. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace components, and precision part finishing. The 3 mm shank diameter allows it to seat in standard ER collets or equivalent small-bore toolholding systems. The single-end design is intended for direct replacement when the cutting end shows wear, rather than repositioning. A 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces in finishing passes.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-install solid carbide ball end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 3 mm shank toolholding, including standard ER11 and ER16 collet systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or powered-off state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the recommended gage line depth in the collet or chuck and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on small-diameter carbide tools.
