The ACCUPRO 12183897 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and alloy materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, the tool delivers rigidity and wear resistance in demanding cutting applications. The ball nose profile produces contoured surfaces, 3D profiling, and radius-bottom slots where a flat end mill cannot reach. At 0.0469 inches in diameter with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, this end mill is sized for fine-detail work in die and mold, micro-machining, and tight-tolerance part finishing. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a range of materials.
This end mill fits CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a 1/8-inch collet or compatible toolholder. With a 0.0469-inch cutting diameter and 0.1406-inch length of cut, it is well suited for fine contouring, engraving, and finish passes on small workpieces. The 1.5-inch overall length keeps the tool compact and maximizes rigidity, reducing deflection during light, high-speed passes. Typical users include tool-and-die machinists, precision job shops, and CNC programmers running finishing operations on hardened or abrasion-resistant workpiece materials.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8-inch shank collet or toolholder. Suitable for milling ferrous metals, hardened steels, alloys, and similar hard materials where TiCN coating performance is specified.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle at a full stop. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut to the toolholder specification before running. At this diameter, tool runout must be minimized — check runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run. Handle carbide tooling carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges during setup and storage.
