The ACCUPRO 12183877 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in CNC milling operations. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool delivers heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The 6-flute geometry provides more cutting edges per revolution, which improves surface finish and allows higher feed rates compared to 4-flute designs. With a 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute configuration, it generates smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
This end mill is suited for machining ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless, cast iron, and similar difficult-to-machine materials where AlTiN coating provides a thermal barrier. The long-length-of-cut designation (1.125 inches) makes it useful for deeper pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations where standard-reach tools fall short. It is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool intended for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills running appropriate spindle speeds.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/4 inch collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Inspect the collet bore and shank for contamination before seating the tool, as debris causes runout and premature edge wear. Set spindle speed and feed rate per the material being cut and the tool manufacturer cutting data for 6-flute carbide end mills. Never run a solid carbide tool in a worn or undersized collet, as grip inconsistency causes tool breakage.
