The ACCUPRO 12183862 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. With a 7/16 inch cutting diameter and 6-flute configuration, this end mill delivers high material removal rates while maintaining surface finish quality. The AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Micrograin carbide substrate supports rigidity and edge retention in demanding cuts. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill suits general-purpose and finish milling on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole, making it adaptable to slotting, profiling, and pocket milling. With a 1 inch length of cut and 2-3/4 inch overall length, it is sized for standard-reach work in both vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute geometry is the conventional setup for most CNC milling programs.
Designed as a standard shank end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and side-lock holders accepting a 7/16 inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle at a full stop and all motion axes locked. Ensure the tool holder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer recommendations for speeds and feeds based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
