The ACCUPRO 12183742 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers strong wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The 0.06 inch corner radius reduces stress concentrations at part edges, extending tool life in demanding cuts. With a 1/2 inch mill diameter, 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool is engineered for aggressive material removal with controlled chip evacuation. It is centercutting and runs right-hand flute direction with right-hand cutting rotation.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills handling ferrous metals, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials where AlTiN coating provides oxidation resistance. The extra-long 6 inch overall length allows reach into deeper pockets and cavities without tool changes. The 4-flute, single-end configuration suits slotting, profiling, and finishing passes where edge quality and dimensional accuracy are priorities. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shops, aerospace, and general precision manufacturing are the primary users.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/2 inch straight shank. Compatible with standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems sized for a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the recommended gauge length in the tool holder and torque retention screws or collet nuts per the holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use; damaged tooling should not be run.
