The ACCUPRO 12183741 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and alloy workpieces. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.045 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the base of a cut and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner geometry. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating enhances heat resistance and wear performance in dry or high-speed cutting conditions. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this end mill for demanding material removal and finishing passes.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC milling machines, and manual knee mills where an extra-long reach is required. The 6 inch overall length and 1/2 inch shank diameter allow access to deep pockets, stepped features, and contoured surfaces. Single-end, centercutting construction supports both plunge entry and side milling. Its micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity and edge retention needed in ferrous and non-ferrous applications where close tolerances are maintained.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 1/2 inch collet or end mill holders used in CNC and manual milling machines requiring a single-end, corner radius, extra-long reach end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the machine tool manufacturer specification. Inspect the collet and holder bore for runout before use, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and compromise corner radius tolerance. Never exceed the rated speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material and coating type.
