The ACCUPRO 12183733 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hard materials. Built with a micrograin carbide substrate and a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, this tool delivers improved wear resistance and longer tool life compared to uncoated alternatives. The 0.0600 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, helping to prevent chipping on demanding materials. With a 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration and a 40-degree helix angle, it provides efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into workpiece material.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills handling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous alloys. The extra-long 6 inch overall length and 1-1/2 inch length of cut make it appropriate for applications requiring deep pocketing, slotting, or profiling in confined or deep-reach setups. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shop, production, or maintenance machining environments will find this geometry well-suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where edge integrity at corners is critical.
Designed as a standard shank end mill with a 1/2 inch shank diameter, compatible with any ER, side-lock, or Weldon-style toolholder accepting a 1/2 inch straight shank. Verify spindle taper and toolholder bore before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Use the appropriate torque on set screws or collet nuts per toolholder manufacturer specifications, and confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Avoid exceeding the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the material and coating type, as TiCN-coated carbide tools can fracture under excessive lateral load without proper support.
