The ACCUPRO 12183716 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 7/16 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, this extra-long tool provides extended reach capability where standard-length end mills fall short. The micrograin carbide substrate and aluminum titanium nitride (AlTiN) finish deliver hardness and heat resistance suited to cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials at elevated speeds. Four spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments will find this end mill well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations.
This end mill is built for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills equipped with a collet or end mill holder matching the 7/16 inch shank diameter. The extra-long OAL of 6 inches makes it practical for deep-pocket milling, reaching into cavities that standard-length tools cannot access. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow conventional milling orientation. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole, adding flexibility to the tool path.
Designed for use with standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling that accepts a 7/16 inch shank diameter. Suitable for machining centers and manual mills configured for right-hand cutting tools.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with tool holding systems and machine tool operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered off before mounting or changing tooling. Seat the shank to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the tool holder manufacturer, typically at least 1 times the shank diameter. Inspect the tool for chips or cracks before each use and do not operate a damaged cutting tool.
