The ACCUPRO 12183715 is a solid carbide square end mill built for demanding milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 7/16-inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 6-inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long category for applications requiring extended reach. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in abrasive or high-temperature cutting conditions. Micrograin carbide construction provides the rigidity and edge retention needed for finish and semi-finish milling passes.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and peripheral milling operations on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The extra-long overall length makes it appropriate for deep-pocket work or setups where standard-length tools cannot reach the workpiece. It is used by machinists in job shops, production facilities, and tool-and-die operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the material without a pre-drilled hole.
Designed as a direct-fit tool for any spindle or collet system accepting a 7/16-inch shank diameter, including ER, TG, and straight-bore collet chucks standard on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Install and remove end mills only with the spindle fully stopped and machine power off or in E-stop. Use a properly sized collet or tool holder matching the 7/16-inch shank diameter and torque the drawbar or collet nut to the tool-holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or debris before seating the tool. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable OSHA machine-guarding requirements during tool changes.
