The ACCUPRO 12183714 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) cutting diameter and a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, this tool delivers clean, flat-bottomed profiles in slots, pockets, and peripheral cuts. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 6 inches overall length, this is an extra-long configuration suited for deep-reach applications where standard-length end mills cannot access the workzone. Machining centers, manual mills, and CNC equipment all accept this tool through its 7/16 inch straight shank. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This end mill fits production and job-shop environments requiring extended reach on deep features, tall workpieces, or fixturing setups that push the cutter away from the spindle nose. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into a workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the standard for conventional CNC milling spindles. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate is appropriate for general-purpose machining and re-sharpening applications where a coated surface is not required or desired.
Designed for use in milling machines and machining centers accepting a 7/16 inch straight shank. Suitable for slotting, profiling, and plunge-milling operations in a wide range of metalworking applications.
This tool is installed by a machinist or CNC operator using an appropriate collet, end mill holder, or milling chuck rated for the 7/16 inch shank diameter. Verify that the holder and spindle taper are clean and free of chips before seating the tool. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and degrades surface finish. Follow all shop safety protocols and machine-guarding requirements when operating rotating cutting tools.
