The ACCUPRO 12183700 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/8-inch diameter with a 0.02-inch corner radius, reducing stress concentrations at part corners and extending tool life compared to sharp-corner end mills. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration provides efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for harder workpiece materials. The extra-long 6-inch overall length and 1-1/2-inch length of cut support extended-reach machining scenarios where standard-length tools cannot reach the work surface.
This end mill is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC milling, manual milling, and production machining environments. The centercutting geometry allows plunge cutting in addition to peripheral and slot milling. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher speeds and feeds in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Its single-end design and 3/8-inch shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders used in typical machining center setups. The extra-long length type is particularly useful for deep-cavity work, mold machining, and fixtures requiring extended reach.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling option for standard 3/8-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with end mill tooling and CNC or manual mill operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth per the holder manufacturer and torque set screws or collet nuts to the holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to confirm proper seating.
