The ACCUPRO 12183699 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding cuts. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a TiCN coating, this end mill handles abrasive materials and elevated cutting temperatures better than uncoated tools. The 40-degree helix promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the centercutting geometry allows plunge milling when needed. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance departments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where a corner radius profile is required to blend floor-to-wall transitions or meet a part print callout. The extra-long 6 inch overall length gives additional reach for deep-pocket or tall-workpiece setups where a standard-length tool cannot access the feature. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling center spindles. Single-end construction means it is replaced rather than reground when worn, keeping setup times predictable.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 3/8 inch collet, end mill holder, or compatible toolholder accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool change mode is engaged before loading or unloading the end mill. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder to minimize runout and prevent pull-out under cutting loads. Verify tool projection and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, especially given the extra-long OAL which increases deflection sensitivity.
