The ACCUPRO 12183695 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and composite materials. It features a 3/8 inch diameter with a 0.09 inch corner radius, reducing stress concentrations at the cutting edge and improving surface finish on profiled cuts. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The extra-long 6 inch overall length and 1-1/2 inch length of cut make it well suited for deep-pocket milling and extended-reach applications. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry into workpieces. Micrograin carbide construction provides wear resistance and rigidity at elevated cutting speeds.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines for profiling, slotting, and contour milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys, where coated tools may cause built-up edge. The extra-long configuration is commonly selected when clearance over fixturing or deep-cavity geometry requires additional reach beyond standard-length tooling. Machinists and toolroom operators in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance environments are the primary users.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used in CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the minimum recommended grip depth to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout after tool installation before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on corner radius end mills and degrades surface finish.
