The ACCUPRO 12183670 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metals and hard materials. It features a 5/16-inch diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 0.01-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in finishing and semi-finishing passes. A TiCN coating improves wear resistance and reduces friction during high-speed cuts. With a 4-flute spiral design, right-hand cutting direction, and 40-degree helix angle, this tool balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. It is classified as extra long, with a 6-inch overall length, making it suited for deep pocket and extended-reach applications.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual mills across job shops, tool and die operations, and production floor environments. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding flexibility in pocket milling and slot milling setups. The 5/16-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and toolholders common in both R8 and CAT/BT tooling systems. It is appropriate for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where a TiCN coating provides the thermal and abrasion resistance needed for consistent performance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill for CNC and manual milling applications requiring a 5/16-inch diameter, 5/16-inch shank, and 1-1/2-inch length of cut in a single-end extra long configuration.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is seated to the proper gauge-line depth in the collet or toolholder before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter end mills. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material and coating type.
