The ACCUPRO 12183660 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and other hard materials. The micrograin carbide construction provides edge retention and rigidity in demanding cutting environments. It features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter with a 1-1/2 inch length of cut and a 6 inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long category for reach into deep pockets or extended-clearance setups. The 4-flute spiral design with a 40-degree helix angle balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. Centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge as well as profile. This end mill is used by machinists and CNC operators across production and job-shop environments.
This end mill suits vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers running ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The extra-long 6 inch OAL makes it well suited for deep-pocket milling, tall-workpiece profiling, and applications where standard-length end mills cannot reach. The uncoated finish is appropriate for use with cutting fluids in applications where coating adhesion or heat buildup is not the primary concern. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow conventional spindle rotation standards on most production equipment.
Designed as a standard shank end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in E-stop or lockout before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Observe the mill diameter tolerance of +0.000/-0.002 inches and shank tolerance of -0.0001/-0.0004 inches when selecting mating toolholders to maintain concentricity.
