The ACCUPRO 12183658 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner geometry. The AlTiN coating provides high heat resistance and surface hardness, making it well-suited for dry or semi-dry cutting at elevated speeds. With 4 flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and a good balance of feed rate capacity and finish quality. Micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and wear resistance throughout the tool life.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills in tool-and-die, mold making, aerospace component work, and general precision machining. The single-end, centercutting configuration supports both peripheral and plunge operations. The extra-long 6 inch overall length allows reach into deep pockets, cavities, and stepped features that standard-length tools cannot access. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle setups. It is sold as an individual unit with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank. Suitable for use with standard 1/4 inch collets and end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the specified grip length and torque the holder to the tool manufacturer or machine builder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a corner radius geometry tool.
