The ACCUPRO 12183657 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations where edge strength and surface finish are critical. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 0.045 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations and extends tool life at the cutting edge. The 40-degree helix angle and 4-flute spiral geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making this tool well suited for dry or high-speed cutting in ferrous and exotic materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in tool rooms, job shops, or production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills capable of holding a 1/4 inch shank. The extra-long 6 inch overall length provides reach for deep pockets and cavities where standard-length end mills cannot access. Its center-cutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional side and slot milling. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation make it compatible with standard spindle rotation. It is well suited for finish milling, profiling, and contouring operations in steel, stainless steel, hardened alloys, and titanium where a blended radius at the floor is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank end mill with ER or Weldon-style tool holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the holder to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly given the extra-long reach of this tool, which increases susceptibility to deflection at aggressive feed rates.
