The ACCUPRO 12183650 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter with a 0.06 inch corner radius, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long category for extended-reach applications. The TiCN coating provides increased surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide, making it well-suited for harder workpiece materials. Micrograin carbide construction contributes to edge sharpness and tool longevity under demanding cutting conditions. This end mill is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where a controlled corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations at part features. The extra-long 6 inch OAL and 1-1/2 inch length of cut make it appropriate for reaching into deep pockets or cavities in mold work, die work, and general precision machining. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece material. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle setups.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch shank corner radius end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and tooling systems accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear and compromise corner radius accuracy. This tool is intended for use by qualified machinists familiar with speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate to the workpiece material and machine capability.
