The ACCUPRO 12183574 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter and a 0.02 inch corner radius, it produces a controlled edge break on milled features, reducing stress concentration and extending part life. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting hardened steels, stainless steels, and other difficult alloys. This is a single-end, centercutting tool suited for machinists running production or job-shop milling operations on CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and finishing passes on ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces where a radiused corner is required. The long-length designation and 1 inch length of cut make it appropriate for applications requiring reach into deeper pockets or along taller walls. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER and shrink-fit toolholders common on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Machinists working with hardened tool steel, stainless, or titanium will find the AlTiN coating particularly effective for dry and semi-dry cutting strategies.
Designed as an OEM-style drop-in for 1/2 inch shank toolholders including ER32, ER40, and shrink-fit chucks on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers requiring a corner radius end mill profile.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Clean the toolholder bore and shank with a lint-free cloth before seating to ensure proper runout. Verify taper and shank diameter tolerance compatibility with the toolholder prior to use; shank diameter tolerance on this tool is -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches.
