The ACCUPRO 12183566 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting applications. It features a 1/2-inch diameter with a 0.03-inch corner radius, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry paired with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent performance in production environments. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, manufacturing facilities, and toolrooms.
This corner radius end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where a controlled edge radius is required to reduce stress concentrations at part corners and improve surface finish. Single-end, centercutting construction allows plunge entry and contour milling in 3-axis and multi-axis CNC machining centers. The long-length configuration provides additional reach for deeper pockets and cavity work. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. The 1/2-inch shank seats directly in standard ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers accepting 1/2-inch shank end mills via ER collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates corner radius wear and degrades surface finish.
