The ACCUPRO 12183540 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. The tool measures 3/8 inch in diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length. A 40-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The AlTiN finish improves heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. With four flutes and a micrograin carbide substrate, this end mill delivers tight tolerances and consistent surface finishes across a wide range of workpiece materials. It is sold as a single unit and is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills by skilled machinists.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless, and cast iron. The long-length classification with a 1 inch LOC supports deeper axial cuts relative to standard-length tooling of the same diameter. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation make it compatible with conventional spindle rotation on standard milling equipment. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole, increasing setup flexibility in production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production end mill for use in CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank with a shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 / -0.0004 inch.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with end mill tooling and machine tool operation. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank fully in the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to confirm proper seating and avoid premature tool wear.
