The ACCUPRO 12183534 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 3/8 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life and improving surface finish on profiling and slotting operations. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry provides efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting at higher feed rates. A TiCN coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, making this end mill well suited for cutting alloy steels, stainless, and cast iron. Licensed machinists and CNC operators specify this tool for production and prototype work where edge integrity is critical.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers, knee mills, and toolroom mills using a 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and is appropriate for side milling, slotting, and light ramping operations. The long-length configuration with a 1 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length provides reach in deeper pockets without requiring extended-reach toolholders. Micrograin carbide construction supports tight tolerances and consistent performance across repeated setups in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in any CNC or manual milling machine equipped with a 3/8 inch collet, ER collet chuck, or end mill holder. No specific OEM machine model compatibility was stated in the product data.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and power isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the 3/8 inch shank fully into the holder and torque the collet nut or set screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value using a calibrated torque wrench. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips before each use; carbide is brittle and should not be dropped or contacted with hard surfaces during handling. Feeds and speeds should be selected based on workpiece material, machine rigidity, and depth of cut — refer to ACCUPRO or tooling manufacturer cutting data for starting parameters.
