The ACCUPRO 12183530 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.09 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and edge retention well suited to demanding cutting applications. The bright/uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for general-purpose milling where coating is not required. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece as well as cut laterally. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install and deploy this tool in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited to long-reach milling operations with a 1 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common to vertical and horizontal machining centers. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life and leaving a smooth radius transition on inside corners. It is used in job shop, production, and toolroom environments for profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling of steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard toolroom end mill compatible with 3/8 inch ER collet chucks, side-lock holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Always verify spindle and toolholder cleanliness before seating the shank to avoid runout that shortens tool life. Confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before inserting or removing the end mill. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the specific workpiece material being machined.
