The ACCUPRO 12183522 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineering plastics. Built from micrograin carbide, it offers the rigidity and edge retention needed for aggressive cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 4-flute, spiral geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. At 0.375 inches in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and 4-inch overall length, this is a long-length configuration suited for applications requiring extended reach into pockets or slots. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC and manual milling operations.
This end mill fits standard 3/8-inch tool holders and collets used in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers. The long-length format is well suited for deep pocket milling, slotting, and profiling where a standard-length tool cannot reach. The uncoated finish makes it appropriate for use with cutting fluids in general-purpose milling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation follow standard CNC programming conventions. No chipbreaker geometry is present, making this tool best applied in continuous-cut finishing and semi-finishing passes rather than heavy interrupted cuts.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch collets and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers, manual knee mills, and CNC routers. Fits any tool holding system rated for 0.375-inch shank diameter tooling.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth before torquing the retention hardware. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate parameters against the material being cut before beginning operation.
