The ACCUPRO 12183514 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. With a 5/16-inch diameter, a 0.01-inch corner radius, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, this tool handles ferrous and hardened materials at elevated cutting temperatures. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry provides efficient chip evacuation and a fine surface finish. At 4 inches overall length with a 1-inch length of cut, it is suited for medium-depth slotting, profiling, and contouring. Micrograin carbide substrate adds edge stability and wear resistance. This end mill is installed by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where edge protection and surface finish matter. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life compared to a sharp-corner end mill. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge milling as well as peripheral and slot cutting. It is applicable in aerospace, automotive, mold-and-die, and general precision machining work.
Designed as a single-end corner radius end mill for use in standard 5/16-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked or e-stopped state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the tool holder and torque the collet nut or set screw to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting, as excessive runout accelerates corner wear on small-diameter end mills.
