The ACCUPRO 12183512 is a single-end corner radius end mill engineered for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) for improved wear resistance and surface hardness. The tool cuts a 5/16-inch diameter with a 0.09-inch corner radius, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length. Four right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth finishes. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry. Machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC mills and manual knee mills rely on this geometry for profiling, slotting, and contouring applications requiring a radiused corner edge.
This end mill suits production and job-shop environments where consistent corner radius geometry is required in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials. The long-length configuration provides additional reach for deeper pockets and stepped workpieces. The 5/16-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-flat holders commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with toolholder torque procedures and runout verification. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended gauge-line depth to minimize overhang and vibration. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, and confirm feeds and speeds are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
