The ACCUPRO 12183508 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations where a controlled edge radius and long tool life are required. It carries a 5/16-inch diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 0.02-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends part surface finish quality. The TiCN coating adds hardness and lubricity, making this tool well-suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With four flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration and center-cutting capability, it handles both slotting and ramping passes. This is a long-series end mill with a 4-inch overall length, appropriate for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on production or prototype work.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a corner radius profile is needed to produce fillets, blend surfaces, or reduce sharp internal corner stress in a workpiece. The single-end, center-cutting design makes it suitable for plunge entries and side milling passes. It is commonly applied in job shops, aerospace component work, mold-and-die applications, and general precision machining where micrograin carbide and TiCN coating provide an advantage over standard high-speed steel tooling. The 5/16-inch shank fits standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in these environments.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills accepting a 5/16-inch shank via ER collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout with a dial indicator before committing to a finishing pass, particularly given the tight mill diameter tolerance of +0.0000 to -0.0025 inches specified for this tool.
