The ACCUPRO 12183504 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life and heat resistance in demanding cutting conditions. The 5/16 inch diameter cutter features four spiral flutes at a 40-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 4 inches overall length with a 1 inch length of cut, this is a long-series end mill suited for applications requiring added reach. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. Typically installed and operated by machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC programmers.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines. The long-series geometry makes it well suited for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations where standard-length tools cannot reach the full feature depth. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is the industry-standard orientation compatible with conventional spindle rotation. The TiCN coating improves performance in ferrous metals including alloy steels, stainless steels, and hardened materials compared to uncoated carbide tooling.
Designed as a standard shank end mill for use in 5/16 inch collets, end mill holders, or shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the full recommended grip length in the toolholder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use and replace the tool if damage is observed.
