The ACCUPRO 12183446 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling of hardened steels, stainless steels, and other demanding workpiece materials. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 2.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.09 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the tool tip and extends tool life in aggressive roughing and finishing passes. The AlTiN coating provides excellent thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. With 4 spiral flutes in a right-hand cutting direction, this single-end, centercutting design is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, and general machining environments rely on this geometry for consistent, repeatable results.
This end mill is built for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and surface finish consistency are critical. The long-length configuration with a 6 inch overall length and 1 inch shank diameter makes it well suited for reaching into deep pockets and cavities without sacrificing rigidity. It is appropriate for dry or minimum-quantity lubrication cutting strategies where the AlTiN coating manages heat effectively. Applications include profiling hardened tool steel, machining titanium alloys, and finishing stainless steel components where a corner radius geometry is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1 inch straight shank end mill holder or collet chuck.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Use a properly rated end mill holder or collet chuck sized for the 1 inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or contamination before seating the tool. Tool projection and runout should be verified with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting program.
