The ACCUPRO 12183349 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5/8 inch diameter, a 3 inch length of cut, and a 0.02 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The TiCN coating provides superior hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. With four right-hand spiral flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. It is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can be used for plunge cuts in addition to conventional milling operations. Machinists and toolroom operators in job shops, aerospace, mold and die, and general manufacturing install and use this tool in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for milling pockets, slots, contours, and profiling operations where a controlled corner radius is required to meet part print tolerances or reduce corner chipping. The extra-long length of cut at 3 inches and 6 inch overall length make it appropriate for deep-cavity milling and reaching into recessed features. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher feed rates and speeds compared to standard carbide grades. It is appropriate for use in both horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers running coolant or minimum quantity lubrication.
Designed as an OEM-style cutting tool for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matched to the 5/8 inch shank diameter and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the coating and substrate grade in use.
