The ACCUPRO 12183324 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) finish, this tool delivers strong heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hard materials. The 0.5 inch cutting diameter is paired with a 3 inch length of cut and a 6 inch overall length, placing it in the extra long category for reaching deep pockets and slots. The 40-degree spiral helix and four-flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job shop environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills handling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials where an AlTiN coating provides thermal protection. The extra long overall length makes it appropriate for deep-cavity milling, extended-reach profiling, and applications where standard-length tools cannot reach the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration match conventional spindle rotation on most machining equipment.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 0.5 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders accepting a 0.5 inch shank diameter on vertical or horizontal CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe locked-out state before installing or removing the tool. Verify the holder runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut, as excess runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Confirm workholding is secure and appropriate feeds and speeds are programmed for the workpiece material before starting the spindle.
