The ACCUPRO 12183319 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.02 inch corner radius, a 3 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, making it well suited for deep-pocket and extended-reach applications. The micrograin carbide substrate is coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) for improved wear resistance and tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and centercutting capability, it handles both plunge and peripheral cutting. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers working in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical machining centers, CNC knee mills, and similar machine tool setups where extended reach into deep cavities or tall workpiece features is required. The extra-long length type and 1/2 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard ER and end mill holders. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in slotting, profiling, and finishing passes on steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard addition for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 1/2 inch end mill holders or collet chucks accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the recommended minimum engagement depth in the holder and torque set screws or collet nuts per the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
