The ACCUPRO 12183305 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 7/16 inch cutting diameter, a 3 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long category for reaching deeper pockets and slots. The four-flute spiral design with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hard-material applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides edge toughness under demanding cutting conditions. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional milling setups.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on ferrous metals, stainless steels, and other hard materials where heat generation and tool wear are primary concerns. The centercutting geometry allows plunge milling as well as peripheral and slot cutting. The extra-long overall length makes it appropriate for deep-cavity work, extended-reach fixtures, and tall workpiece setups that standard-length tools cannot access. It is intended for use by machinists and toolmakers operating CNC machining centers or manual knee mills.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new installation for standard 7/16 inch collet or end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 7/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist using a properly sized collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder rated for the 7/16 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before mounting or removing the tool. Verify shank engagement depth meets the toolholder manufacturer minimum to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; carbide end mills are brittle and should not be dropped or subjected to side impact during handling.
