The ACCUPRO 12183304 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and alloy workpieces. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), it delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated tooling. The 4-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. At 6 inches overall length with a 3-inch length of cut, this is an extra-long configuration suited to deep-pocket and long-reach applications. Centercutting capability allows for direct plunge entry. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal milling centers, CNC machining centers, and manual mills where extended reach is required to access deep cavities or step features. The 7/16-inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders in that bore size. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling setups. The TiCN coating makes it particularly effective on cast iron, alloy steels, stainless steel, and hardened materials where heat buildup and abrasive wear are primary concerns.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-installation end mill for any milling machine or machining center equipped with a collet, end mill holder, or chuck accepting a 7/16-inch shank diameter. No specific OEM system compatibility was provided in the product data.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from its holder. Confirm the collet or holder bore matches the 7/16-inch shank within the specified shank diameter tolerance before clamping. Follow machine manufacturer runout and torque specifications for the holder type in use; exceeding recommended overhang beyond the stated length of cut increases deflection risk and tool breakage.
