The ACCUPRO 12183293 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/8-inch diameter with a 0.09-inch corner radius, providing a controlled edge that reduces stress concentration and improves surface finish in profiling and contouring cuts. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can be used for plunge cuts as well as peripheral milling.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where extra-long reach is required. The 1-3/4-inch length of cut and 4-inch overall length allow access to deeper pockets, slots, and contoured surfaces that shorter tools cannot reach. It is a common choice in job shops and production environments working with steel, stainless, cast iron, and hard plastics. Machinists and CNC operators working to tight tolerances will benefit from the micrograin carbide substrate, which supports consistent dimensional accuracy across extended run times.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 3/8-inch shank tool holders, including ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the tool holder and spindle are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates wear and degrades corner radius accuracy. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when setting tool offsets and spindle speeds.
