The ACCUPRO 12183279 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a controlled edge radius. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 0.015-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling applications. With 4 flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, it balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for applications where coating-induced dimensional buildup must be avoided.
This end mill is intended for use in production and job-shop machining environments where extra-long reach is required. The 1-3/4-inch length of cut (LOC) and 4-inch overall length (OAL) allow access to deeper pockets and stepped features that shorter tools cannot reach. It is a single-end, center-cutting design, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece as well as cut laterally. Machinists and CNC programmers working in aerospace, mold and die, and general metalworking will find this tool applicable to a wide range of roughing and finishing passes.
Designed as a standard shank corner radius end mill compatible with 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders commonly used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 3/8-inch shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and sensitive to improper handling or excessive runout.
