The ACCUPRO 12183242 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hard alloy materials. It features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.01 inch corner radius and a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, giving machinists controlled edge engagement with reduced corner chipping. The AlTiN coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. With 4 flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. It is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can be used for plunge entries. Micrograin carbide grade supports rigidity and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills running ferrous metals, stainless steels, titanium, and hardened alloys. The extra-long 4 inch overall length allows access to deep pockets, stepped features, and tall workpiece profiles where standard-length end mills fall short. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling. It is commonly used in tool and die, mold making, aerospace component machining, and production shops running tight-tolerance parts.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch shank diameter via ER collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit tooling systems.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an e-stop or tool-change state. Verify collet or holder bore size matches the 1/4 inch shank before clamping, and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or contamination before seating the tool, as debris will affect runout and tool life. Confirm cutting direction and spindle rotation match the right-hand flute orientation before initiating any cut.
