The ACCUPRO 12183240 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 0.25 inch diameter with a 0.09 inch corner radius, a 4-flute spiral geometry, and a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating that improves wear resistance and surface hardness compared to uncoated carbide. The extra-long 1.625 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length make it well suited for deep-pocket and extended-reach milling where standard-length tools fall short. Micrograin carbide construction supports higher cutting speeds and longer tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production machining, and toolroom environments.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials where a radiused corner is required to reduce stress concentration or match a part geometry. The centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for use in conventional vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and manual mills. The extra-long length of cut makes it particularly effective for deep-wall pocket milling and profiling operations that exceed the reach of standard-length tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 0.25 inch shank diameter collet or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator using a collet chuck or end mill holder rated for 0.25 inch shank tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Verify runout after installation with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the workpiece material.
