The ACCUPRO 12183238 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.0450 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and produces a consistent radiused profile in finished workpiece geometry. The TiCN coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. With a 40-degree helix angle and 4-flute spiral geometry, this tool is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where chip evacuation and surface finish quality are priorities. Machining professionals and tool-and-die shops select this mill for applications demanding tight tolerances and extended tool life.
This end mill is built for use in CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills where extra-long reach into cavities, deep pockets, or stepped workpieces is required. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling chucks sized for that bore. Its centercutting capability allows it to plunge directly into a workpiece without a pre-drilled hole, supporting both ramping and plunge entry strategies. It is appropriate for mold and die work, aerospace components, and general precision machining where a controlled corner radius profile is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill fitting standard 1/4 inch ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and milling chucks used in CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine control in an estop or locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Secure the shank to the full recommended grip depth in the tool holder to minimize runout and avoid pullout under cutting load. Do not exceed the tool holder manufacturer's recommended torque when tightening collet nuts. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chipping before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and can fracture if mishandled or dropped.
