The ACCUPRO 12183227 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a controlled edge radius. Built from micrograin carbide, it features a 1/4 inch diameter cutting face, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and a 1-1/2 inch length of cut. With 4 flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, it provides efficient chip evacuation and smooth finishes in a wide range of materials. The single-end, center-cutting configuration allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. At 4 inches overall length, this extra-long geometry reaches deeper pockets and features without requiring a toolholder extension. It is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC mills and machining centers.
This end mill suits applications in ferrous and non-ferrous machining where a radiused corner is required to reduce stress concentrations, improve part longevity, or hold a specific blended edge geometry. The bright uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for shops running general-purpose toolpaths in steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials where a coated tool is not required. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are compatible with standard CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling for standard 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists using an appropriate 1/4 inch collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before loading or removing tooling. Confirm runout is within acceptable limits after seating the tool to protect both the end mill and the workpiece. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines when setting tool offsets and feeds.
