The ACCUPRO 12183216 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/16 inch diameter with a 0.045 inch corner radius, a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, and a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating that improves wear resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and delivers a smooth surface finish. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this single-end, centercutting tool handles both plunge and peripheral cutting operations. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this geometry for finishing passes and contour work where edge integrity matters.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills running ferrous alloys, hardened steels, stainless steels, and cast iron where a TiCN coating provides a performance advantage. The extra-long length type and 3 inch overall length make it appropriate for reaching into pockets or cavities that standard-length tools cannot access. The centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, reducing setup steps in contour and slot milling operations. It is used in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 3/16 inch collet holders, ER collet chucks, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm collet bore and holder bore match the 3/16 inch shank diameter before clamping; refer to shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches when selecting a holder. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer feeds-and-speeds recommendations for the specific workpiece material to avoid premature tool wear or breakage.
