The ACCUPRO 12183177 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles high-heat cutting operations where tool life and edge integrity matter. The 1 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 3 inch length of cut and a 6 inch overall length, giving machinists extended reach for deep-pocket and long-reach applications. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a wide range of materials. This tool is installed and operated by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill suits ferrous and non-ferrous milling operations where high surface speeds and tool longevity are priorities. The AlTiN coating performs well in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting conditions, particularly in hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. The extra-long length type and centercutting capability allow for plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling passes. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry matches standard CNC spindle rotation on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed as a direct-mount solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills accepting a 1 inch straight shank with shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 / -0.0004 inches.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the 1 inch shank in a matched end mill holder, collet chuck, or shrink-fit holder rated for the shank diameter before operating the spindle. Inspect the tool holder bore and collet for wear or runout before tightening. Never exceed the tool and machine manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
