The ACCUPRO 12183141 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, a 2-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 5-inch overall length, making it well suited for deeper pocketing and slotting operations where a standard-length tool falls short. The micrograin carbide substrate supports edge retention under demanding cutting conditions. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive materials. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills for slot milling, profile milling, and peripheral finishing operations. The long-length designation suits applications requiring extended reach into deep pockets, tall workpieces, or setups with significant Z-axis clearance requirements. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration matches standard spindle rotation on conventional milling equipment. Machinists, tool and die makers, and production CNC operators are the primary users.
Designed as a direct-fitment replacement or production tooling option for standard 3/4-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following established toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or tool-change state before inserting or removing the tool. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a production cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended depth-of-cut or feed rate for the workpiece material.
