The ACCUPRO 12183140 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/4-inch mill diameter, a 2-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 0.09-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in profiling and contouring passes. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. With an overall length of 5 inches and a bright/uncoated finish, this is a long-reach, single-end tool suited to production and job-shop environments where reach and rigidity both matter. Machinists and CNC operators install this tool in milling centers running demanding materials.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers. Its long-length configuration makes it well suited to deep-pocket milling, side-wall profiling, and contour work where standard-length tools cannot reach. The centercutting design allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, giving operators flexibility in toolpath programming. The micrograin solid carbide substrate supports higher spindle speeds and feeds compared to high-speed steel alternatives, making it appropriate for production environments with tight dimensional tolerances.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 3/4-inch collet chucks, milling arbors, and shrink-fit holders used in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the 3/4-inch shank fully into the holder to the minimum insertion depth specified by the holder manufacturer, and torque the collet nut or set screws per the holder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and degrades corner radius accuracy.
