The ACCUPRO 12183106 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter with a 0.010-inch corner radius, 4 flutes, and a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The long-series geometry provides a 2-1/8-inch length of cut within a 4-5/8-inch overall length, making it well-suited for deeper pocketing and profiling passes. The bright uncoated finish means this tool is typically used in applications where coating is not required or where regrinding is planned. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, toolrooms, and production facilities are the primary installers and users.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a small corner radius is required to reduce stress concentration on part edges. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers. With a 5/8-inch shank diameter matching the cutting diameter, it seats directly in standard ER collet chucks or side-lock holders without the need for a reducing adapter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-selection solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 5/8-inch toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. The tool shank should be cleaned and inspected before seating in the collet or holder to ensure full contact and runout within acceptable limits. Confirm holder torque specifications per the toolholder manufacturer before beginning a cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and replace the tool if corner radius integrity cannot be confirmed visually or with a loupe.
