The ACCUPRO 12183097 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hardened materials. The 1/2 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 0.01 inch corner radius to produce clean, radiused edges while reducing stress concentrations at part corners. With a 4-inch overall length and a 2-inch length of cut, this single-end tool handles deep-cavity work and extended-reach applications where shorter tooling falls short. The AlTiN coating provides high-temperature resistance and extended tool life in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting environments. Micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and a fine surface finish across a broad range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened alloys. It is a practical choice for die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and general precision shop work where a radiused corner profile is required. The long-series flute geometry accommodates deeper pockets and stepped features that standard-length end mills cannot reach. Machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments will find this a direct fit for corner-radius finishing and semi-finishing passes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/2 inch straight shank end mill holder or collet chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 1/2 inch shank fully in the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm feeds and speeds are appropriate for the workpiece material and coating type before engaging the cut.
